Why remove GPS metadata from HEIC?

iPhone photos frequently embed precise coordinates. Posting a HEIC—or a JPG that still carries EXIF—can reveal your home, school, hotel, or workplace. StripHEIC is built for the combined job people actually need: HEIC to JPG + remove GPS metadata.

What gets removed

Do HEIC photos contain GPS location?

Often yes, if Location Services were enabled when the shot was taken. Coordinates live in EXIF/GPS tags inside the file.

Is this safer than upload-based converters?

Can I keep the photo as HEIC without GPS?
